Libraries now: a day in the life (New York)

I’m sharing this video of a day in the life of New York’s public libraries because it seems relevant to our project. Film-makers Julie Dressner and Jesse Hicks were surprised to find that, although library usage has increased over the last decade, city funding and hours have been scaled back, so they set out to record the “array of services and programs that are stitching together critical holes in the city’s safety net”. Some of the scenes brought a tear to my eye! Thanks to Liz McGettigan whose tweet alerted me to this.
